Experimenting with a new hairstyle is refreshing, exciting, and fun. Although, if you don’t know what you’re doing, it can also be nerve-wracking. Many of our clients at Vinci Hair Clinic are looking for advice on how to style their newly recovered hair, and we found some great pointers from celebrity hairstylist Jason Collier published in the online magazine Attitude.[i] If you’re searching for a new look, Jason recommends choosing a signature look based on the shape of your face.

Square Face

If your face is square, then Jason says you’re in luck! Of the three major face shapes, square is the easiest to work with. Because so many styles look good with a square face, the most important aspects to consider are your lifestyle and personality. If you’re a busy man with long hair, Jason recommends trying a sleek man bun to keep your hair out of your face while looking professional and intelligent. If your hair is short but difficult to manage, Jason recommends a Justin Bieber-style undercut.

Round Face

Jason recommends that men with round faces choose styles that elongate their faces. Choosing a slicked-back style with volume on the hairline makes your face appear longer, especially when coupled with sharply angled facial hair––just look at Leonardo DiCaprio’s styling to see how much of a difference this look can make. If your hair is longer, consider parting it down the middle like Gabriel Aubry. According to Jason, middle parting is the perfect complement to a round face.

Heart Face

Heart-shaped faces are wide at the temples, but narrow at the chin. If that describes you, then Jason recommends mid-length hair with plenty of volume to balance the proportions of your face. If your hair is flat and straight, consider using volumizing spray or mousse to increase its size.

If your thinning or balding hair is keeping you from contemplating which style is best for your signature look, contact us at Vinci Hair Clinic today.
