Male Hair Transplant FAQ

The hair around the back and sides of the head is genetically programmed to grow for life. A hair transplant is a simple redistribution of this permanent hair to the thin and balding areas of the scalp.

Hair loss has a range of causes, and it is important to get an expert diagnosis in order to choose the right treatment for your specific condition. For example, male pattern baldness is caused by a hormone called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), which damages the hair follicles on the top of the head, but doesn’t affect the hairs on the back and sides of the head. The same hormone causes female hair loss but in a different pattern. Other causes of hair loss include stress, scalp conditions and some medications. For personalised hair loss advice, arrange a private consultation with Vinci Hair Clinic.

Absolutely. As we are using your own natural hair, it will continue growing at the same pace as the rest of your hair.

Vinci FUE sessions will require us to shave your donor area quite short.

As the transplanted hair is in different phases from growth to dormant, regrowth is progressive and starts from approximately three months post-op. At the six-month stage, hair growth has been active for three months, and we would expect to see a good portion of the hair growing through. Nearly all the regrowth is achieved from between 12 to 18 months.

Yes. The hair follicles we transplant from the donor area are genetically programmed to grow for the rest of your life. This doesn’t change when we transplant the hairs to the bald or thinning area.

Yes, all Vinci Hair Clinic consultations are free of charge.

The cost of a hair transplant procedure depends greatly on the level of hair loss, the amount of density required, as well as on your expectations. A hair transplant is a permanent procedure and will be visible for the rest of your life. While cost is an important factor, the quality of the work should be your number one priority when choosing a company to undertake your restoration. Various finance options are available to help make the treatment more affordable and therefore achievable

If you are not a good candidate for a hair transplant procedure, your Vinci specialist will provide you with an honest assessment of your case and recommend alternative treatment options, which may include MSP or medical treatments.

During the consultation, your Vinci specialist will evaluate your stage of hair loss. We will discuss your expectations with you and let you know what we can realistically achieve with the treatment options available to you.

In most cases no. The NHS in the UK for example will pay for a handful of surgeries per year, but rarely in cases of standard pattern baldness. On the other hand, treatment costs for hair loss caused as a direct result of accidents, where private insurance liability is in place, are potentially covered by insurance companies.

Eyebrow FAQ

A Vinci Hair Clinic eyebrow transplant procedure would typically last around 3 – 4 hours.

The first new growth will typically come through from 3 months after the procedure, however, the total time frame for eyebrow transplant results to fully mature is from between 12 and 18 months. Once the hairs start to grow, they can be cut, plucked and or tinted as required.

The hair growth cycle for eyebrow hairs is 2 to 3 months, while the hair growth cycle for scalp hairs that are used for the procedure is 3 to 5 years. This means that eyebrow hairs fall out after they reach a certain length, while scalp hairs will continue to grow longer. The implanted hairs that go to make up the eyebrows will adjust themselves to grow more slowly with time, but at first, regular grooming will be necessary

A Vinci Hair Clinic eyebrow transplant is a permanent solution which will last a lifetime.

Directional growth angles are respected and scalp hair is carefully selected from a specific zone that gives the closest match to your eyebrow hair.

In most cases no, NHS in the UK will pay for a handful of surgeries per year but not in normal balding or thinning cases. We have had
a few clients which have lost their hair following accidents where there was a private insurance liability and the insurance company paid for their hair transplant but unfortunately if you are experiencing thinning and balding this will not be the case for you.

Beard FAQ

The basic hair transplant principles are the same and facial hair can be reconstructed and/or refined to create the look of a full beard, moustache or goatee. Whether your facial hair is just patchy, or you have no facial hair at all, the new hair will grow and give a permanent solution.
Local anaesthetic is used to completely numb the area, so although you are awake throughout, you will feel no pain. You will be kept completely comfortable throughout the whole process.

Facial hair transplantation can be used to create beards, moustaches, goatees and sideburns. The procedure can also be used simply to for refine existing facial hair or to fill in to sparse areas.

Your first shave can take place from 14 – 21 days post op, providing the area is fully healed.

Directional growth angles are respected and scalp hair is carefully selected from a specific zone that gives the closest match to your facial hair.

Mesotherapy FAQ

Mesotherapy is a non-surgical hair loss treatment using a formulation consisting of natural plant extracts and approved hair loss medications.
During treatment, the scalp is effectively being given a boost that can stimulate the hair follicles and blood circulation to improve the quality of hair growth in the treated areas. Microinjections deliver the treatment just below the epidermal layer at a depth of around 1 mm beneath the skin’s surface.

The treatment duration can vary from patient to patient and is dependent on the type of hair loss. A minimum number of sessions is required to build up the Mesotherapy components in the skin to kick start hair growth stimulation. A typical minimum treatment program would be 6 months, with sessions being performed regularly to promote aggressive recovery. After this time and depending on progress, the interval between sessions can usually be increased to maintain the results achieved.

Many patients experience positive results after 2 to 3 months, although results can occur earlier.

Most patients report that their mesotherapy procedure was not painful. However, some do suffer from a low level of discomfort.

Laser Cap FAQ

A Laser Cap can be used to stop the progression of hair loss and to stimulate new hair regrowth. A Laser Cap is a viable treatment choice in the management of androgenetic alopecia (male/female pattern hair loss), telogen effluvium and menopausal hair thinning.

A Laser Cap can be used to stop the progression of hair loss and to stimulate new hair regrowth. A Laser Cap is a viable treatment choice in the management of androgenetic alopecia (male/female pattern hair loss), telogen effluvium and menopausal hair thinning.

Results vary depending on the condition of the hair at the beginning of use. Changes begin occurring at the cellular level of the hair shaft and after 60 days of consistent use (as directed), LaserCap will stop the progression of excess hair loss, and stimulate a gradual increase in hair volume, thickness and growth.

Patients that have undergone hair transplants can benefit from a Laser Cap treatment program. Laser Hair Therapy has been found to be an amazing tool to speed up wound healing time post operatively, as well as helping to stimulate new hair growth from a transplant. Older hair transplant results can also be improved with the use of a Laser Cap as it is essentially an anti-ageing treatment for the hair and scalp.

Yes, all Vinci Hair Clinic consultations are free of charge

A Laser Cap costs £890 and can be purchased from our online store. When purchased as part of a Vinci Treatment package, the cost of a Laser Cap reduces considerably.

PRP FAQ

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is a natural medical procedure that uses your body´s own growth factors to help stimulate healthy hair growth. PRP is concentrated blood plasma containing a high number of platelets. These platelets promote healing and accelerate the rate and degree of tissue regeneration, as well as the formation of new cell growth. In respect to hair loss and hair transplantation, PRP can be used for the purpose of stimulating inactive or dormant hair follicles in a variety of hair loss conditions and to stimulate grafted follicles into the growth phase.
A blood sample is taken and placed in a centrifuge where it is spun to separate the platelet rich plasma from the other factors in the blood. Once the platelets have been separated from the blood, this concentration is injected into the area to be treated.

Regular sessions promote healthier hair growth, but the treatment duration can vary from patient to patient. PRP sessions are usually performed regularly over an initial 6 month period to promote aggressive recovery. After this time and depending on progress, the interval between sessions can usually be increased to maintain the results achieved.

Many patients experience positive results after 2 to 3 months, although typcially it can take up to six to twelve months to judge the results of PRP “visually” in the mirror.

Maxogaine Forte FAQ

Maxogaine Forte is a topical hair restoration medication for treating male pattern hair loss.

Although Minoxidil´s ability to promote hair growth is not fully understood, theoretically, by widening blood vessels and opening potassium channels, it allows more oxygen, blood and nutrients to the follicles. For best results, it is advisable to start treatment in the early stages of hair loss to help stabilize excessive hair loss and promote healthier, stronger hair.

Yes. Maxogaine can be used as part of an overall treatment programme in combination with other hair loss solutions such as PRP, Mesotherapy, Vitruvian Vitamins and Laser therapy to improve the overall result. Maxogaine Forte can equally be used as a stand-alone treatment or to support and enhance hair transplant results.

Maxogaine is a topical formula which must be used once or twice daily for the treatment to be effective. The liquid comes in a handy dropper bottle and should be applied directly to a clean, dry scalp. The formula is unscented and dries quickly, so you can style your hair before or after application and use styling aids accordingly. Each box contains 3 bottles of Maxogaine solution, with droppers for easy application. This is a 3 month supply.
