A hair tattoo may seem to be an unlikely solution for baldness. However, Vinci Hair Clinic and their many satisfied clients are proving that hair tattoos (also known as MSP Micro Scalp Pigmentation) can be a great way to deal with hair loss.

An Expert Explains Hair Tattoos

Vinci Hair Clinic’s Karina Santos is an expert in hair tattoos and has many years experience in the hair restoration industry. As the medical clinic’s head MSP technician, she has worked on over 2,000 scalps and has trained numerous new technicians in the skill.

We asked her to tell us about hair tattoos and why they are becoming so popular. She explained that MSP was developed by Vinci Hair Clinic as a solution suited to people who are not good candidates for hair transplants and those who prefer not to have surgery. The procedure is non-invasive and involves the application of specialist pigments to the scalp to simulate the look of short, shaved hair growth.

She says that although MSP is often described as a hair tattoo, it is very different from a normal body tattoo. The technician doing the procedure must be highly skilled, with a unique understanding of how to apply the pigments for an aesthetically-pleasing effect. Vinci’s technicians plan each client’s MSP to suit their original hairline, hair colour, skin-tone and facial bone structure in order to produce a natural and realistic result. Generally, between two and three sessions are needed to complete the treatment, with each session lasting from 2 – 5 hours.
