Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

Vinci Hair Clinic Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-surgical medical procedure performed by our highly experienced medical team. PRP offers a natural approach to treating female hair loss by using the healing power of your own body. The high concentration of growth factors in the PRP solution stimulates dormant and inactive hair follicles into the growth phase and promotes improved blood flow to the area treated. The results can include an improvement in quality and thickness in thinning and miniaturised hairs.

PRP is a solution of platelet rich plasma which is injected into the area being treated.  This is obtained by taking a blood sample from you which is then placed into a centrifuge. The Centrifuge machine spins and separates the platelet rich plasma from other factors in your blood, achieving a solution of concentrated plasma which contains approximately three times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood in your body.

How it Works

Human blood contains stem cells which are important growth factors which assist in tissue regeneration, general healing and new cell regrowth. The solution is obtained by taking a blood sample from you which is then placed in a centrifuge. This then spins to separate the platelet rich plasma from the other factors in the blood. The solution we are left with will then be injected into your scalp.

The intense application of growth cells help to give the immediate area a boost to either enhance the healing and weaker cells in the area, or to stimulate improved regrowth of the hairs.

PRP can be used as a stand-alone treatment for those that are prone to side effects from other hair loss treatments. As a non-surgical treatment, PRP can also be combined with medical hair loss treatments such as Minoxidil and other DHT inhibitors.

We generally recommend that you start with one session of PRP therapy every 3-4 months, decreasing the frequency of the sessions as you progress and the results start to become visible.

Studies into PRP therapy have found it to be an effective, safe and side-effect free treatment for hair loss. Even individuals who did not respond to 6 months of Minoxidil or Finasteride treatment experienced improvements with PRP treatment.

The results can include restored hair growth with improved quality and thickness in thinning and miniaturised hairs.
