Mens Hair Transplant
Body Hair Transplant
A Body Hair Transplant can be adapted to help two specific areas of hair loss. This is to either improve the coverage or density of hair over the body such as the chest, or used to extend the donor hair resources and be used with a traditional hair transplant.
When the scalps donor area becomes depleted, your body hair can be a useful resource to increase the overall hair count. This can be blended within your native hair and used to enhance your hair transplant result.
Your body hair will be extracted using the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique. This is when your hair follicles are extracted individually using a circular punch, usually 1mm or less in diameter.Procedure Videos
Tests and Consulting
We offer face to face consultations where we can discuss your individual requirements. We will need to assess your hair characteristics to ensure you are a suitable candidate for a Body Hair Transplant
A personalised treatment programme will be tailored for each individual along with payment and finance options.
Body Hair can be used to either rebuild a specific area on your body, or to assist with scalp hair restoration and increase the overall hair count when your donor hair resources are minimal.
The FUE punch used to extract the hairs from your body is less than 1mm in diameter, initially leaving a small wound that soon heals over the coming week.
With years of experience in surgical hair restoration and other forms of hair loss treatments, it gives us an edge understanding facial variants and bone structure, creating natural hair lines that frame the face to give back that youthful appearance.
Natural results are achieved with the latest advanced surgical methods available. After 3 months post surgery start watching your new hairs come through.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have excess body hair, can I not just use this instead of taking the hair from my scalp for the transplant?
There are some considerable differences between the hair in the scalp and body hair. Hair from the body has different characteristics to hair on the scalp, so there must be acceptable similarity between the hair of the body and that of the head for a natural result. On the scalp, follicular units have one to four hairs each, the follicular units of the rest of the body only have one to two hairs. For this reason, the coverage that is achieved with the same number of follicular units is less if it comes from the body.
