Clinical studies have proven that low level laser light is an effective and viable option to treat hair loss, on both a cosmetic and physiological level.
As reported by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), clinical trials show that 97% of patients saw notable improvements in hair sheen and strength, characteristics that enhance the overall appearance of fullness of the hair. Physiologically, LLLT treatments have been proven to assist in both the prevention of hair loss and in the stimulation of hair regrowth in areas of hair loss. No side effects of low level laser therapy have been observed.
So how does the new Laser Cap™ compare to the well-established Laser Comb products already on the market? We reviewed both variants to find out.
What are laser combs?
There are many versions on the market today. Most popular among these is the HairMax LaserComb, a device that has sold hundreds of thousands of units around the world.
The HairMax range includes three models from the entry-level Advanced 7 to the Professional 12 version. Aside from a couple of minor differences in functionality, the only real change in performance between the models is the number of laser diodes. This doesn’t make any particular model more effective. It just means they can treat a wider area at any one time.
Other popular models include the Extreme by Hair Club, and the Bosley Lasercomb Elite, although these two models look remarkably similar to the HairMax branded product.
None of these models are portable in the real world. Sure, you can walk around your house with most laser combs because they’re portable in the same way that a portable telephone is portable, but it has limitations. You’d no doubt attract some very strange looks if you used this product while walking around your local supermarket.
When reviewing your options, be aware that unlike many snake oil solutions out there, laser combs have been proven effective by clinical studies. Long term continual usage is necessary, however the device is a one-time purchase with no ongoing cost implications, therefore this is not necessarily an issue for most people.
What is the Laser Cap™?
The Laser Cap™ is the latest breakthrough in power and convenience, using cutting edge technology to offer you a clinical grade laser experience in the comfort of your own home or while on the go. The Laser Cap™ is the first ever completely portable solution, offering new hope to men and women suffering with thinning, balding and dull hair.
The Laser Cap™ hair treatment program uses 224 laser diodes, making this device similar to having your own clinical laser. The device fits inside any cap or hat, which completely conceals the laser light while in use.
The proximity of the Laser Cap™ to the scalp allows for maximum effectiveness and minimal dispersion of the laser & light energy. Each treatment session is 30 minutes on alternating days of the week.
The Laser Cap™ has a convenient, portable battery pack allowing you the freedom to use it anywhere. This is a massive plus because it means you can continue to go about your day to day life without detection or disruption. Unlike the laser comb, you can use the product in public without attracting unwanted attention or questioning looks. In fact, the extreme portability of the Laser Cap means you can use it absolutely anywhere as it will fit into virtually any kind of hat, not just ball caps.
As one of the worlds leading hair loss clinics, at Vinci we had to decide which of these products we would support and recommend to our customers. As always we have our customers best interests at heart, and based our decision on which product offered the best combination of effective results, convenience and value for money, and of course on real customer reviews of both products.
We subsequently chose to make the Laser Cap™ available in all our clinics around the world, because we believe it offers a better solution than traditional laser combs.

FAQs about The Laser Cap™
When can I use the Laser Cap™?
The Laser Cap™ has been designed with your convenience and busy lifestyle in mind. There is no need for frequent return visits to the clinic for treatment. Laser Cap™ can be used while you are driving, while you exercise or simply in the comfort of your own home.
Can I put the Laser Cap™ in any hat?
You can fit it into any hat large enough to hold it, baseball caps, beanies, bandanna, head scarves and summer hats are all suitable. You can also wear the Laser Cap™ by itself. A rechargeable belt-clip battery that’s practically undetectable powers the cap. All they’ll notice is your healthier, fuller, thicker hair.
How does Laser Cap™ work?
Much like sunlight helping plants to grow, laser therapy stimulates healthy hair growth through the safe use of light. The Laser Cap™ directs light over the scalp and stimulates the blood and hair cells below the scalp to grow and reproduce, promoting the repair of damaged cells and weakened hair follicles. The hair follicles absorb the light in the form of energy, which in turn stimulates cell metabolism, wiping out oxygen free radicals and improving blood flow. The result? Thicker, healthier looking hair, and in many cases, hair regrowth.
Who can use Laser Cap™?
Laser Cap™ is a viable treatment choice in the management of androgenetic alopecia (male/female pattern hair loss), telogen effluvium and menopausal hair thinning. Use Laser Cap™ to stop the progression of hair loss and to stimulate new hair re-growth.
How long will it take before I see any results using Laser Cap™?
Results vary depending on the condition of the hair at the beginning of use. Changes begin occurring at the cellular level of the hair shaft and after 60 days of consistent use (as directed), Laser Cap™ will stop the progression of excess hair loss, and stimulate a gradual increase in hair volume, thickness and growth.
Can I use Laser Cap™ alongside other hair loss treatment such as Rogaine or Propecia?
Yes, it is perfectly safe to use the Laser Cap™ alongside other non-surgical hair loss treatments such as Rogaine/Minoxodil and Propecia/Finasteride.
Can I use the Laser Cap™ if I have had a hair transplant?
Patients that have undergone hair transplants can benefit from the Laser Cap™ treatment program. Laser Hair Therapy has been found to be an amazing tool to speed up wound healing time post operatively, as well as helping to stimulate new hair growth from a transplant. Older hair transplant results can also be improved with the use of LLLT as it is essentially an anti-aging treatment for the hair and scalp.
Does Laser Cap™ work for women?
The Laser Cap™ is suitable for both women and men.
How often do I need to use the Laser Cap™?
With consistent use, 30 minutes per day, 3 times per week patients usually notice a difference in their thinning hair within 60 days.
