At Vinci Hair Clinic, we regularly attend to people who have had scalp pigmentation treatment elsewhere and are unhappy with the results. Common problems of poor quality micro scalp pigmentation work done by inexperienced technicians include an overly low hairline that becomes unflattering with age, or a solid, monotone design that creates a helmet effect.

In order to help patients like these, we have introduced Laser Scalp Micro Pigmentation Removal. This process allows the safe removal of unwanted ink pigments from the skin, without causing scarring or damage to the hair follicles.

How Does Laser Scalp Pigmentation Removal Work?

The laser scalp micro pigmentation removal process is the same as laser tattoo removal. However, as scalp micro pigmentation is generally placed at a more superficial level in the skin than a traditional tattoo, it tends to be easier to remove. In many cases, we can remove scalp micro pigmentation in 2 or 3 sessions, while tattoo removal takes as many as 8 sessions.

We use highly effective Q-Switched lasers to remove unwanted micro pigmentation from the scalp. The lasers direct short pulses of light energy at the area being treated. The pigment absorbs the light, heating up until it breaks into small particles, while the surrounding skin remains unaffected. Following the laser treatment, the small residual particles of ink are removed by the immune system’s natural processes. This causes the pigmentation to gradually fade away.
