A Vinci hair transplant is an outpatient procedure carried out in one of our specialized clinics or hospitals. During the procedure, permanent hair is removed from one area and placed into a bald or thinning area. The types of hair transplant that are available today are wide ranging, with the two main treatments being Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT).
The difference between the methods are the way in which the FUs, also called grafts, are harvested from the donor area. FUT removes a thin strip of hair from which the FUs are separated and prepared for implantation. FUE uses a small cylindrical punch which removes each FU individually for checking and preparation. The grafts are prepared, ready to be placed over the area of hair loss.
